Why Otus
Professional intelligence,
without the guesswork
Otus is the world's first marketplace built for OSINT and digital investigation — connecting you with vetted experts, secure workflows, and deliverables you can trust.
Built to fix
what's broken
on both sides.
The marketplace problem · solved in one move
The intelligence market is broken on both sides. Clients can't tell which researchers to trust. Experts can't get paid fairly for the work they actually do. Otus is built to fix both at once.
We do this by inserting a verified admin layer between the two sides. Clients and experts never interact directly; we handle scoping, briefing, coordination, and rework. The quality risk sits with us, not with the client.
Privacy, anonymity, and rigorous vetting are foundational to how Otus operates. Clients and experts never know each other, only the work being done. Both sides go through an extensive vetting process conducted by our internal team. For clients, this confirms identity, professional standing, and alignment with Otus's standards and ethics. For experts, it goes further: we confirm that every practitioner is not only genuinely skilled in their field but legally licensed to do the work they take on.
“Being capable is not enough. Being legally allowed is the bar.”
Four rules that shape every engagement.
Anonymity by Design
Clients and experts never know each other — only the work being done. Identities stay protected on both sides, which matters most on adversarial cases.
Two-Sided Vetting
Clients are verified for identity, standing, and ethical alignment. Experts must be both genuinely skilled and legally licensed for the work they take on.
A Catalogue That Grows Both Ways
We expand based on observed client demand and on services proposed by vetted experts — provided the work is generalisable, never a one-person niche.
Simple Economics
Free to join. No subscriptions, no hidden fees. Clients pay only for what they commission. Experts earn only on the work they deliver.
The service catalogue grows in two directions.
We identify demand from clients and recruit applicable experts into the network to deliver it. Verified experts can also propose services they want to offer, provided the work is generalizable across multiple experts in the same field, not a one-person niche. The catalogue is therefore responsive on both sides: to client need and to practitioner judgment.
Access to Otus is free.
Sign-up costs nothing, and once you're vetted you gain extended access to the catalogue, pricing, and the platform itself. But some services are sensitive in nature and require additional approval before they become available to you. You can come and go as you need; there are no subscriptions and no hidden fees. Clients pay only for the services they commission. Experts earn only on the work they deliver. The economics are intentionally simple.
Where verified expertise meets your investigation.
You shouldn't have to figure out who to trust, manage the expert yourself, or hope the report is usable. With Otus, you don't.
Discover Our Services
Once you're vetted, you can browse a catalogue of OSINT services: counterparty diligence, asset tracing, background checks, digital footprint analysis, adverse media review, threat research, and more. Every listing has a clear scope, an indicative price range, and a turnaround estimate. The service is delivered by a vetted expert, who is licensed and has the experience to handle your case, with no guesswork on your part. If you need something not yet listed, an admin can scope it directly with the team.
Track Your Orders
Choose the service that fits what you actually need. Every listing in the catalogue includes plain-language explainers covering what's included, what isn't, and what you'll receive at the end. If you're not certain you've picked the right service, you don't have to be. Every request is reviewed by an Otus admin before it goes to an expert. If the service doesn't match what your case actually requires, we'll flag it and recommend a better fit. Our job is to make sure you get what you need, with no unnecessary charges or workloads.
Always Supported
Once your request is in progress, your dashboard gives you a real-time view of the engagement: status, progress, activity log, and notifications on every meaningful change. Every request is paired with a dedicated Otus admin who serves as your single point of contact. You can add context or new requirements at any point, and your admin folds them into the brief and confirms any scope or timeline adjustments before applying them. All communication runs through a secure, per-request thread with encrypted messaging and file sharing. You will never interact with the expert directly. This separation protects the expert from identification and protects you from any expert-side risk reaching your organization.
Receive Your Report
When the work is complete, the admin team reviews the deliverable against Otus quality standards before release. The format depends on the nature of the service. It may be a structured intelligence report, a dataset, a briefing pack, or another format that fits the work, typically including an executive summary, key findings, supporting evidence with full source citations, and methodology notes. Every deliverable carries the Otus verification mark. If it doesn't meet specification, Otus manages the rework. You raise it with admin, and the platform handles the correction. We support multiple payment methods, with full transaction history and invoices available in your dashboard.
A verified admin layer, anonymised channels, structured briefs and deliverables, and an Otus verification mark on every output. Built once, applied uniformly — whichever side you join.
